Folks, if you have (or know) a child between the ages of 8 - 18 (class 3 to 12) you might want to introduce the child and his/her friends to -

www.PlayAltoopa.com

a portal managed by Altoopa Research and Concepts, run by alumni of IIM-B and BITS-Pilani among others.

The mission is to spread positivity among school students across the world. A daily dose of just 15 minutes of positivity and 'energy' booster delivered in the form of an online game of 9 'pellets' (modules) that the kids love because it's so full of fun. Log in and read the FAQs for more. I'd strongly recommend you try it out yourself first so that you can see for yourself the benefits that your kid/s and you (being their parent) will be deriving from it. What's more? Scholarships and prizes worth lakhs of rupees, literally, are up for grabs! As if this is not enough, the kids get to interact with 'Koolpaa' (highly experienced child psychologists behind it) and get their emotional turmoils, if any, resolved in private.

This was piloted in Trivandrum with the support of the Govt. of Kerala and has now been launched PAN India and abroad. So make hay while the Sun shines. No registration cost...at least for now :-)

BTW here's an article from Business Insider that clarifies the importance of cognitive abilities that this portal helps enhance to a great extent: http://bit.ly/1Gu8cgS

...and here's another from Psychology Today highlighting the perils of the current education models and why the kids (at least the younger ones) should be playing, exploring and socializing rather than being part of the infamous 'rat race': http://bit.ly/1JRpsjH
