No War with Iran!

Informed sources say that Donald Trump is tacitly supporting Netanyahu’s attacks on Iran and that the likelihood of U.S. military involvement cannot be ignored.

U.S. regime-change efforts in Iraq, Libya, and Syria have been unmitigated disasters for all involved (save for a few victorious warlords). Those nations have been torn apart, their citizens scattered, impoverished, injured, and/or dead and their children uneducated and embittered.

Donald Trump cannot be entrusted with the power to make war. Congress must reclaim the powers assigned to it in the Constitution. Iran does not have nuclear weapons and is not threatening the United States.

Right now, Rep. Khanna (D-CA), Rep. Massie (R-KY) and Sen. Kaine (D-VA) are preparing to introduce War Powers Resolutions in the House and Senate, respectively. These are privileged resolutions that have to be given a floor vote.

PLEASE CONTACT YOUR 2 SENATORS AND YOUR REPRESENTATIVE

“Please support the War Powers Resolution by Sen. Kaine – or by Reps. Massie/Khanna. The United States should not initiate a war with Iran. Iran does not have nuclear weapons and is not threatening the United States. Congress should take back the war power from the presidency.”

Religious fundamentalism and atomic weapons make for dangerous mistakes, especially when they chant death to America.  O12 June 2025, the IAEA Board of Governors formally declared Iran in breach of its nuclear safeguards obligations—the first such finding in two decades. This decision was based on Iran’s repeated failure to explain the presence of undeclared nuclear material and activities at multiple sites. I adamantly protested the Iraq war, and I don't know if the US should get involved, but I do know Iran should not possess atomic bombs. Bush was an idiot who was surrounded by neocons.  Trump has other issues, but he doesn't want to make the same mistakes Bush made.  However, this isn't the kind of decision that a committee of senators can solve.
