Greetings from the International Fiscal Association.
I am writing this letter as the Vice-Chairman of the Southern India Branch of the International Fiscal Association (IFA). It gives me great pleasure and privilege to write this letter to you.
The demands of globalization of the economy call upon tax experts lawyers to master the strategic and practical fundamentals of international taxation. It is not possible to discuss taxation without referring to the tax aspects of bilateral conventions and international transactions and trades when transactions may cross borders. International taxation is a pertinent component, which business persons take into consideration. There are significant different tax issues that affect companies on an international scale and international taxation is becoming a progressively more important part of the work of many tax professionals. Tax consultants (both in practice and in the industry) face above issues regularly.
It is in this background the International Fiscal Association (IFA) is organized. IFA is an organization headquartered in The Netherlands and is the only non-governmental and non-sectoral international organization (since 1938) dealing with the study and advancement of international and comparative law specifically international and comparative fiscal law i.e. financial and economic aspects of taxation. The world-wide membership of IFA now stands at more than 11,500 from 96 countries and the membership of the Indian Branch is close to 550.
The Southern India Branch of IFA is playing an important and active role, both in the development of principles of international taxation and in providing possible solutions to problems arising in their practical implementation. We conduct regular meetings on International Taxation every month.
The most important event of IFA, India (Southern Region) is the Annual Conference, being conducted in the month of August every year. This year, the 4th Annual Conference, is being conducted on the 21st and the 22nd of August 2009 at the Taj Coromandel, Chennai. The conference of IFA Southern India Region are well attended and the audience includes senior tax professionals/CFOs. Due to capacity constraints, we restrict the attendance to 225 persons.
The Annual Conference comprises of nine sessions. Out of the speakers, four speakers are from overseas. All sessions of this conference will offer the delegates an introduction to the structures that underlie international tax planning whilst providing the delegates with an update on the new and interesting developments in international tax. The Topics and the speakers are chosen with the above background considering the experience and from different countries. The conference also provides a very good platform for networking not only amongst tax professionals but also amongst corporate executives.
The conference program along with the registration forms are enclosed herewith.
The Delegate Fee is fixed at Rs. 3,500 for IFA Members (as on the date of registration) and Rs. 5,000 for non-members with a Group discount @ 10% for three or more persons.
I would like to highlight that there is also a Special Takeaway to the conference delegates in the form of the following:
I would be thankful if you can kindly circulate this mail to your colleagues/associates/clients (and also your collegues in Sri Lanka and overseas) so that your colleagues/associates/clients are aware about the conference and could register themselves as delegates.
Regards,
S.Sundarraman,
