I need to replace the some of furnace hose in the Royale. Can dryer hose from the local big box hardware store be used? Can't really see why it couldn't, probably rated for about the same temperature.

Thanks Howard. Always nice to have confirmation from someone who has actually done it. Did you use the foil type or the plastic type? This may be a moot question as I am not even sure you can get the plastic type anymore.

Question to your question: Is the furnace hose in your coach 3.5" dia or 4" dia? The box stores carry only 4", I believe. I just replaced the old Sol-Aire furnace in my coach which uses 3.5 with a new Suburban SF35FQ which uses 4". Since my old 3.5 hose was okay, I modified the plenum from the Sol-Aire to fit the new furnace. If you need the 3.5 ......go on-line, box stores dryer hose OK for 4". BTDT.

You want to use one that can handle the higher temp of the dry heated air.W supply the Ones for that specific application that is UL approved.

In his Royale, Charles Aulger ran a perforated piece of drain pipe the
entire length of the hall way to the rear area. He just removed the toe
board along the L side of the coach. Nice, even heat all the way to the
rear bed area. This eliminated the hose running behind the cabinets. Dave
DeGraffenreid owns the coach now and maybe someone can contact him for a
photo. Nice setup and Charles had to point it out to me or I would have
missed the mod.
When I replumbed my furnace, I picked up correct flexible ducting at an RV
trailer supply house.

I used the same type of hose from the local R V shop.
Gray in color.
Sealed it with aluminum duct tape at the heater.

do be carefull what you use. best to get the correct stuff. I had used a flexible aluminium pipe that has a good heat rating...however the first time I fired up the furnace there was a bit of saw dust on top of the pipe in the wardrobe area of the palm beach and that started smoking after the furnace was on for about 5 min. I removed the pipe and replaced with the more expensive cloth like stuff.

Once you replace everything that is attached to something else. It will all be fixed.

I bought 20 feet of the 4" furnace hose online from a RV supply (that I ended up not using). It was exactly the same material that Home Depot sold for dryer vents. It was not the plastic stuff but a kind of metallic mylar, very thin but tough with a chrome-like luster to it.
