I have a non Toro 455 with a bad block, the cly bores are very rusted, it would need to be sleaved.
it has c heads, not sure if it has the good valve covers, not a Toro intake, crank may be OK

I'm planning on selling the heads and valve covers unless they are the good one and scrapping the rest

is there anything else I should salvage?

Yes, the cam gallery plug on the rear of the block. It has a lube hole to
lube the distributor drive gear. Specific to the 455.

If it is a non Toro and not from a GMC isn't the starter mounted on the
driver's side?

Starter is on the driver side and mounts to the block.
Toronado mounts on the trans on the passanger side,
Oilpan needs to be for the Toro,
