It does appear that much of the traffic from the GMCforum/GMCnet board is NOT being sent to the email list. In the last week, there are quite a few threads with no corresponding thread in the email list or the Google archive.

I know in the past there were issues with missing replies - but it does appear to have gotten worse recently.

There have been occasions on the gmc net.com where threads have been
broken. No cause has ever been given, but wth. It is the internet. Strange
stuff happens. Tornadoes, floods, hurricanes, hot weather, cold weather,
server problems, vacations, family emergencies, they all play into issues
with the net.

Emery, I have been "monitored" for several years. When my topic is strictly
GMC related, there does not seem to be much of a delay until it appears on
the net. If I "stray" off the topic, often times there will be a message to
me that says something like "Your message exceeds available bandwidth " or
similar. Even one paragraph is sometimes affected

I have enjoyed reading the GMC emails for over 20 years (I think). I began as an “envious lurker” and finally found our Mystery Machine.

I can’t think of any individual who has markedly diminished this platform. There have been remarkable shit-stirrers, but I chalked them up to entertaining nonsense and not personal attacks.

Most have offered positive input - all the Larry’s, Ken’s, Jim’s, et al.

I’m hoping this continues for many years and my rare input is not objectionable.

If you compare new threads and replies in the 2-4 weeks between the
email list (or the Google Archive
copy) and the web forum, you'll see dozens of threads/replies that are
missing.

Some examples:

"Daniel's Onan - starts April 21 with 18 replies": missing from email list
"A/C Belt chirps when compressor first engages - starts Apr 26 with 10
replies": email list had two entries
"Smog pump on 455? - starts May 12 with 5 replies": missing from email list

And MANY more. In the past there were some missing messages - but it
looks like it's far worse now.

So - if a person is only reading the email version of GMCnet, they are
likely missing quite a few threads and replies.

You're right, Rob. Eugene and I have been diligent in adding new forum
members to the email list but it never seems to work. This started with the
software upgrade a year or two ago, whenever that was.
