Hi Amit,
Can you asnwer this using our techniques :

In the village of Foxdale, no one with blue eyes plays golf, everyone who drives a station wagon has blue eyes, and everyone with blue eyes eats Danish pastry.
If the statement above is true, which of the following must also be true about the inhabitants of Foxdale?

A) No one who eats Danish pastry plays golf.

B) Everyone with blue eyes drives a station wagon.

C) Everyone who drives a station wagon eats Danish pastry.

D) No one who plays golf eats Danish pastry.

E) Everyone who eats Danish pastry has blue eyes.

Here we go...

lets say:

blue eyes --- B
golf --- G
wagon --- W
Danish pastry --- D

Statement fragments:

1) no one with blue eyes plays golf ==>
Those who play golf do not have blue eyes ==> G --> !B
in other words, ppl with blue eyes DO NOT play golf ==> B --> !G (the
contra-positive of the first notation)

2) everyone who drives a station wagon has blue eyes ==> W --> B

3) everyone with blue eyes eats Danish pastry ==> B --> D

Summary:

from 2) & 3)
W --> B --> D. From this we can safely derive that W --> D
(in words, ppl who drive W have B and eat D)

from 2) and 1)
W --> B --> !G
(in words, ppl who drive W have B and DO NOT play G)

Answer choices:

A) No one who eats Danish pastry plays golf. WRONG

means, ppl who eat D do not play G ==> D --> !G

This is the most tempting wrong answer. Observe that there is no
direct corelation between D and G

B) Everyone with blue eyes drives a station wagon. WRONG

means B --> W. we have W --> B. hence this answer choice is a mistaken
reversal.

C) Everyone who drives a station wagon eats Danish pastry. CORRECT

means W --> D. This is a what we derived from summary from 2) and 3)
above.

D) No one who plays golf eats Danish pastry. WRONG

means, ppl who play G DO NOT eat D

Like answer choice A, This answer choice is a flaw as there is no
direct corelation between D and G, what so ever

E) Everyone who eats Danish pastry has blue eyes.

means, D --> B

This is a mistaken reversal of statement fragment 3).

Hence answer is C. Please post the OA and the source.

Regards,
Murali.
