I have had the same problems logging in to Gmarks but everything is
now back to normal.

For the last week I have noticed that Gmarks would not work without
being logged into my mail and also when I selected mail from the
google home page it took me to the mail log on page rather than
directly into my mail as it used to do.

Possibly something to do with the Google cookie I wonder which is now
rectified??

regards

FYI, my Gmarks is still not logging in on its own. Perhaps your
browser is storing the cookie and/or you selected "Keep me signed on"
on one of the Google sites?

Also, I did notice that if you choose "Save and Quit" when closing FF,
the next time you reopen GMarks will appear to be logged in, but it's
not really working properly. See this thread for info:

It appears my GMarks is now working as well. Very strange, Google
must be doing wonky things in the background.

I found out that if you are logged in a Google service in another
language GMarks does not work.
If you log in your Google account using the English version then it
works again.
It must have anything to do with the cookies. Google might have
changed something in their authentication.
