How to get FF bookmarks to Google account?

Everything indicates that I can upload my FF bookmarks to my Google account but damned if I can figure out how.

From the Gmarks menu I clicked Organize bookmarks. Then from the File menu click import. I saw the program show progress in importing 40 bookmarks. Then Import Complete, but no bookmarks show. Neither does the one bookmark I have on google right now, and i have signed into google.
