Plans for the next couple weeks.

I was originally planning on flying back to Michigan early Monday
morning. Now I've decided to instead spend a few weeks travelling in
Mexico (and Guatemala and/or Belize, in order to get a passport stamp
and in effect get an extension on my tourist visa here) before finding
a place to teach.
At this point, I plan to travel for a bit until I find a city I like
that's big enough to have a few language schools. Then I'll post a
couple resumes to places and see what happens. (The guy who talked to
us last week from the International House in Mexico City said that
about 80% of language schools would call back a CELTA graduate for an
interview.)
The main concern that originally led me to get a flight back home was
the amount of money in my checking account, but my dad's going to wire
me some more. I have other money, I just can't access any of it from
here. Another concern that made me wary of travelling before looking
for work was what to do with my laptop. That'll be taken care of by
leaving it here with Catherine (who's training to be a CELTA tutor
here). Once I've found a place to stay (and work), she'll send it to
me through DHL. Hopefully it won't go to my dad, which is where all
the computer stuff I needed last summer seemed to go...
I'll eventually upload some more pictures, but in the meantime, Neil
sent some of the ones he took at a party we had last Saturday to the
usual picture email address. (My camera's batteries were dying, so I
only took a couple during that.)
