The course is going well. Overall the work hasn't been hard, there's
just a lot of it. The only real difficulty so far was yesterday when
I pushed my lesson planning right down to the wire, and didn't have
all my stuff ready to go until two minutes after I was supposed to
start teaching. Luckily this is Mexico, so at that time there was
only one student and we waited a bit longer before starting the
lesson. If I was a regular teacher who had procrastinated this much,
it wouldn't have been as big an issue, because simply running off
copies of practice handouts at the last minute is a lot less work than
running off copies and cutting them up and trying to script my lesson
plan so the tutor observing me can write an evaluation. (I basically
just winged the last part of the lesson anyway.)
I'll most likely post some pictures from the last week and from
Chichen Itza tomorrow afternoon, while putting off planning for the
lesson I teach on Monday. :-)
