Greetings Folks!

Any idea how to continue to operate Gmail Send Delay with Google Code shutting down next year?

Cheers,
Dan

Hey Dan,

Thanks for the note!

Yeah, I'll be moving the project to GitHub (Google Code even provides an automated way to migrate).

But just to be clear, the functionality of Gmail Delay Send doesn't depend on Google Code at all. Just using the wiki and bug/code hosting features.

Thanks,
-Blair

Did you actually move it to github?

I see that https://github.com/blairkutz/gmail-delay-send exists, but there is no wiki and the last commit is adding a link to: https://gmail-delay-send.googlecode.com

Is the read-only google code page still the home page?

You're correct. Only the code has been cloned to GitHub (in case anybody wanted to modify the source code). The wiki is still on google.code

Dear Peter,

Sorry to bother you.

Is there anything I need to do my side with the migration over to GitHub?

Do I need to uninstall/remove/do something to the existing google code install?

What are the '...for dummies' steps to continue using your fine code with github

Regards,

Guy

Hey Guy,

Nothing needs to be done. The script itself it not hosting on Google Code or Github, it runs on Google Apps Script.

This only pertains to people who which to clone the source code and make modifications.

Thank you for your quick reply.

Your code is very useful.

Blair,
Thanks for this simple and effective app.

I understand that the script runs independent of Google Code, but there are two aspects that I think might still be affected by the shutdown.

The link to the options, and the link to uninstall are both at Google Code. Please advise.

Additionally, the v0.8 changelog says "Ability to version and rollout new versions seamlessly." Did this mean each person's "installation" would update as you published new versions?

Yes, when the full transition to github is complete those links will be updated. Thanks for the reminder  :-)

Yes, that's correct. By default as changes are made to the script all users pick up those changes. See more information about running your down separate instance here: https://code.google.com/p/gmail-delay-send/wiki/GmailDelaySendOwnInstance_8
