Yup. Roger.
Looking at it now, what I see is that Inbox does show up in the
Move-to button menu (which it did not yesterday or earlier today), but
of course not in the Labels button menu.
I am hesitant in general to use the Move-to button, because it's my
understanding that it will effectively move the conversation out of
the "folder" (label) it was in if you were looking at the contents of
that folder/label. So if I was looking inside label:abc and I use
Move-to, it would remove the label abc from that conversation ...
which is generally NOT what I want to do (aside from moving something
out of the Inbox or out of Spam).
Whereas the "Move to Inbox" button did not have that behavior.
Also, I see that the "Move to Inbox" button does not appear if I have
clicked on a label (and then select a message) ... or if I search for
that label ... but it does appear if I am in All Mail, or if I search
for "L:abc" (rather than "Label:abc").
Arrgh! Why couldn't Google be consistent about the user interface?
(Some Google software jockey is probably sitting there thinking, how
cool would it be if I make the button appear only in these
circumstances but not in those.)
It just occurred to me that the "Move to Inbox" button was a Gmail
Lab, not a feature of Gmail itself. (No, wait, I just checked, and it
is not a Gmail Lab anymore.)
