Hi all,

Love Gmail, awesome work Google! Ongoing development work in the Labs
is sooo exciting. Great to be just a minor part as a user of this
exciting stuff!! Enough of that.

I have an associate who has changed companies and does not want emails
for new business sent by mistake to his old email adress (likely to be
monitored by a previous employer).
When I start composing a new email and entering his details in the To:
box his old email address comes up as one that I have previously sent.
I inadvertently sent an email yesterday to his old address. Whoops!
How do I delete it from the addresses that automatically come up when
I start typing in the To: box.

He is not currently listed as a contact.

Any assistance would be much appreciated.

Chances are that he is in fact in your contants but as a suggested
contact. If he wasn't in your contacts at all his email address would
not be suggested :)

Google contacts are seperated into two "groups", My Contacts and All
Contacts. My Cintants are the contacts that you have either physically
added or told the contact manager to add. All Contants contains just
that, ALL your contacts whether you added them or GMail is just
suggesting them because you've sent an email to them before.

I would suggest looking in All Contacts for your associate and either
remove him or move him to My Contacts (after changing his email
address of course)

That's neat Nick. I did not make the distinction between All Contacts and My Contacts. Thanks for clearing that up. My contact will be relieved.

I find managing Contacts much more straightforward and reliable in the
Older Version of GMail, which can be accessed in a link at the upper
right of the Inbox screen.
