Hello,

I recived the following massage in my outlook client:

Dear omoshe,
A recent attempt to access your account failed. Due to Google Terms of
Service, you are required to verify your account at any time requested
without prior notice. Failure to verify your account will result in
account lock until Google decides to unlock it. Please verify your
account by sending your gmail account and password back to this
address.

Sincerely,
Google Team

What is the meaning of that massage?

Is it authentic?

Thank you.

The meaning of that message is to phish your username and password from you.  It is NOT authentic at all.  The first give away is that your name (if Omoshe is your name) is not capitalized.  This means they just deduced your name from your username and the program they wrote to do that is too dumb to capitalize lowercase letters.  The second give away is "until Google decides to unlock it."  Really?  They won't even give you an actual time frame?  Next comes the request for your password.  No legitimate company will ever, ever, ever, for any reason ever ask you to tell them your password.  Period.  Finally, it's signed "Google Team".  Jokes.

My suggestion is to view this message in the web interface, click the arrow on the top right side and select "Report phishing".  This will send the message over to Google so they can try to stop these people before they do any real harm.
