Google Briefcase

Any chance of google coming out with a rival to Yahoo! briefcase? I've
been hoping for this for quite some time. Does anyone know if there
are any plans for a Google/Gmail Briefcase?

I do know that google is coming out with a calendar, and I believe it
is very similar to the Yahoo briefcase.

There have been rumors about gdrive (which would let you store
gigabytes of data) for some time, but nothing concrete yet.ogle/Gmail

Actually, it's beyond rumors... Google has "spoken" publicly about a
GDrive (in their press releases).

It is a very good news that I came across here. .Can anybody mention
how to Create G-drive ? , if I have an existing gmail account. .Perhaps
I may sound stupid. .but really I don't know. .All suggestions and
answers are appreciated. .thanks :-)

Step 1) Wait patiently for Google to begin offering this product (as
mentioned above, this is a product they've talked about in press
releases, but it not currently available)

Step 2) Follow the steps they post on the public announcement, when
they post a public announcement.

And when GDrive does become available, either publicly or to a limited Beta tester pool, could the first person to notice this offering mention it here so that the rest of us who may not have noticed can be alerted to the release and take advantage of it? Thanks!

I can virtually guarantee that. Bill Wholmes has been spectacular in
announcing things as they happen, usually with great links to further
information. There are other enthusiasts here as well, but his name
leaps to mind.

I would suggest you monitor Google's official blog. They usually write
posts about new Google offerings on there. If you put it in your RSS
reader you will be sure to know about new Google stuff as soon as it
happens.
