I am not able to save a contact entry without having a year for the
Anniversary. Anyone have similar issues?

I would think this would work like the birthday and save with or
without a year.

It would also be nice if the date info from the contacts could be
displayed on your calendar automatically. As far as I can tell, this
stuff isn't tied all together yet. Am I wrong?

I hadn't used those fields/options, so I had to go looking for them.  It seems the Birthday is definitely treated special, as it's always there, and you have to add a "date" to add the Anniversary.  Seems it's the only one coded to work without the year.

There's a calendar for Contact's Birthdays and Events.  Use the "Add Calendar" function of your Google Calendar and it'll add them in.  I put two birthdays and 1 Anniversary; but the anniversary didn't show up.  Might be delayed.. I dunno.

Yeah. I consider it quite worthless if you are required to have a
year. As OCD as I am in wanting to have all the fields I can possibly
fill complete, there is no way I'm going to have anniversary years.
Please. I hope this can be fixed in the future.

Oh, very cool. We've been running a different calendar for birthday's
& anniversaries up until this point. Having them feed off the
contacts would be cool. I'll go check it out. Hopefully it's
shareable too.

Thanks for the info. Google Contacts isn't that bad but it could use
a little work. Do you happen to know if there is a specific Google
Group for Contacts? I couldn't seem to find anything.

Thanks,
Craig

This is a problem throughot all kinds of sites on Internet. You can
type in info in notes and update you calander monthly, it's not as
neat and certainly does not save time.

When Earthlink was my provider I was able to get annual birthday/
anniversary reminders a few days ahead that arrived automatically on
my Earthlink start page daily.... name, month, day & "what for", no
year date. It was so simple that I still find it hard to believe
google hasn't provided it. I suspect over designing is mixed in here
somewhere. Donna
