Gmail Members Search?

I'm wondering if it's possible to search through Gmail users/members
looking for a specific person?

For example, if I was on Yahoo, I can search through their member
directory using around a dozen different parameters. Granted, each
individual member decides if they want their account listed in the
member directory, but it's still helpful if you're trying to find
someone's email address that you may not have.

I saw posts that were close to this question, but I didn't go through
each and every one, so I apologize if this is a repeated question!
