Are you privy to the MUA that these emails are being sent from. Unencode
or uucode is popular in the UNIX community. Messages attachments sent
with this format are encapsuled into MIME contents.
Normally, attachments are sent as Base64, but that is not a hard and
fast rule. I find it surprising that Gmail is chocking on this though.
You might want to forward one of these emails directly to Google for
analysis.
