GMail chat :: use the jabber contact instead of e-mail address

Hello,

I created an entry in my GMail contacts with the following details:
- e-mail address: us...@something.com
- Instant Messaging: us...@jabberserver.net (Jabber)

When I now add this user to my GMail chat, it always uses the e-mail
address instead of the Jabber username.

Is there a way to change that or is it a bug?

You can modify contact's name in Gtalk windows.

Move your mouse to his/her name and click his/her name in the pop windows.

Thanks for your answer, but I didn't ask for changing his/her name ;-)
Also I'm not using GTalk.

What I said is, that GMail chat is using the contact's e-mail address
instead of the contact's jabber/GTalk address.

Ok you need to add it to your account not the chat......the chat works
best with just google talk contacts!

The chat works perfect with Jabber contacts as well. Jabber and GTalk
are both XMPP (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/XMPP).

But anyway, that's not the problem/bug. Even if I put
us...@somethingchat.net (GTalk) into the GTalk field of my GMail
contact GChat still doesn't use that, but the e-mail address, which it
shouldn't.
