Hi, I have a question...

My main email account no longer works, and that is
sigma...@gmail.com
That email account is INCREDIBLY important to me. I can tell you the
correct password for that account, but not in a public forum.

That would prove I'm the owner, I hope. I really, really need that
account back. All of th eweb pages on my server havelinks to that email
account, and I get a fair amount of hits per day (800-1000) and I have
plenty of emails!

For some reason, I can't re-register it, but when I try and do password
recovery, it says that the account doesn't exist, like what the heck?

Please, I need some assistance or my account back, with my emails,
ASAP.
Perhaps if a Gmail rep or tech could email me, that would be greatly
appreciated.

Thanks,
mat s. or Sigma Smith

What do you mean, "doesn't work"? POP/SMTP or webmail? Send? Receive?
Both? Are messages sent to the address bouncing? What does the bounce
message say?

Side note: Anybody that uses a FREE service for VERY IMPORTANT purposes has
little regard for the importance of anything VERY IMPORTANT.

I mean that I cna no longer login at http://gmail.com
Even with the correct password.

When I run password recovery, it says that the account does not exist.
However, when I recieve an invite, and try re-registering that email
address again, it says that that name is already taken.

I'm really confused here and I need my account back.

It sounds like it was deleted. Did you have an easily guessed password?

No I didn't, that's the thing. The othe rthing is that when I try to
re-register it, it says it's already in use! But when I run the
recovery, it says its gone!

Did the Gmail Servers screw up or something lately?

I never said you deleted it. The messages you are getting are the same
as what I would expect if the account was deleted.

I would write to support and see what happened.

Email the help / contact us avaliable by googling for gmail help.
Are you a UK user using a @gmail.com ? Maybe they are removing these
accounts due to the recent court ruling . . . any info on this?

If you say that you did not recieve the email about password recovery,
gmail gives you a complaint and fix form to fill out. try that. It
worked for me.

What recent court ruling... I missed that and as a NL user using a
@gmail.com, I am worried that this may affect me too.

I heard about the court ruling in Germany, but nothing about the UK.
Is it the same ruling you're referring to, or was there a separate one?
Do you have a link to information on it?

Thanks,
Doc

Fiala already posted a link, but
http://mail.google.com/mail/help/intl/en-GB/googlemail.html is the link
gmail gives uk users.

Thanks to you both.  That at least puts my mind at rest.  Hopefully we should be OK here in the Netherlands then.
