Hi Arn

I've just tried the j2me app on my SE Aino and it still works.

If you're 100% sure that your username:password are correct, perhaps you need to sign in using application-specific password.

Using an old Sony Erricson dumb phone with Java and the old Java Gmail app. Until this evening it worked fine. However, now it keeps throwing error "Username and Password do not match", but the information is correct and my Windows 7 browser based GMail works with the same password.

I can no longer find the old Gmail Java app on Google and I suspect that GMAIL may now require communication using HTTPS and the old app uses HTTP and I can find now way to switch to HTTPS.

I've enjoyed being a cell phone Luddite, but it looks like I'm about to get a new phone. Hope someone knows what the problem may be.

Stupid question, since passwords are case-sensitive (I think): Any
chance you are getting upper/lower case wrong, from your 'dumb' phone?
What kind of keyboard does it give you?

Ah hah Eureka! Glad to hear you solved it, and thanks for your feedback - so many people just don't bother.

There's a phrase I use a lot in my line of work, PEBKAC ;)

Problem solved.
Cause: Dumb User. As stated in the old comic strip Pogo "We have met the enemy and he is us", also known as a brain fart.
For the past four days I have entered the wrong password, leaving out one digit of my 10 byte password. {sigh}.
