Put everyone in the BCC area and make the "to" just yourself or a fake address.

You can also create a google group id in case you would like to create
a distribution list. But there are several problems having a dl on a
groups id. One being the, size limitations for mails that are send
out.

I know for sure that you can create distribution lists if u have a
google apps account.

here's a way to do it: choose the group and compose as usual. then
<ctrl><A> and select all adresses in TO: set; now CUT <ctrl><X> from
here and then PASTE <ctrl><V> this clip in to BCC:.

you may have to keep some address, at least one, in TO: set - as i've
always done; on the other hand this may not be necessary; please try
it out.
