To sidestep that problem, use either of these URLs to login to Gmail and get
the old version:
http://mail.google.com/mail/?ui=1 or
https://mail.google.com/mail/?ui=1
Andy
I'd agree that using the older version is a stop gap solution.
I have just completed a very painful migration of 2 email domains from
our own internal Exchange server to Gmail.
With the exception of a few users who still use Gmail intermittently
through Outlook because of email integration with our CRM, everybody
is using the Gmail web client.
We have over 50 users, most who also use labs for certain features
(Such as nested labels, which is ace) so turning off labs and going
back to the old version is not an option.
Luckily, only a small number are affected by this, but I know I'm
gonna get hell when I tell them there isn't much I can do about it
unless I start turning things off.
In the hope that Google are monitoring this thread, can you please try
and do something about this problem. It may seem minor when only a
couple of people complain about it, but I've been doing quite a bit of
searching about this today, and I reckon it's a bigger problem than
you think.
Take note.
