Gmail "quick contacts"

I need help on accessing quick contacts. I cant find out how to. Even
though I looked on google help.

What kind of help do you need? Do you have "Quick Contacts" or not?
If it's there, what is your problem with it? If it's not, are you
using "Standard with chat" mode, I believe it's necessary since "Quick
Contacts" is actually a function of the chat module.

Good luck!  When you find out the answer please let me know.  I have tried finding that option too.  Seems there are just some things we cannot get answers to.

It's also possible that the browser you're using isn't supported for chat with Gmail (and Zack is correct in saying that the Quick Contacts box only appears when you have chat). Opera and Safari are two notable browsers which don't have chat.

Does IE support chat too? I can't tell, as I rarely use a PC and prefer
Firefox---but I'd rather know to tell the newbies.

BTW, is there a way to NOT include anyone that sends me e-mails/chat
invitations on Contacts?

I never have people who send to me on contacts, but GMail
automatically adds people you send to, to contacts. I don't allow
connections to my chat from un-knowns, so I have no idea if they're
auto-added. If so, I'd say, don't let them send to you, so then they
don't auto-add.
