Just in the last few days I keep having to put in my user name and password every few minutes.  Is this a security thing that Gmail has started?  It is good in one way, but to have to do it all the time is getting just a little annoying. (:o)

It's a not a security thing I have, so I bet no. You might have a browser problem... try it from a different computer or using a different browser.

I've been having the exact same problem. If I don't use my browser for
a few minutes (2-3 mins), it says that the session has expired. I never
had the problem before in the past. It started showing up 2 days ago.
Any advice?

Thanks guys.

I've been having the same problem and am so frustrated with it.  I have Firefox as a browser and have been going round and round with Mozilla about it since it started when they did an automatic upgrade.  One day I think it is fixed, and the next it's not working again.  Go figure.  I e-mailed them yesterday shouting thank you thank you and when I went in this morning they were all gone again.

Get a browser like Nescape that keeps the logins in password manager.

Well, saving the username is a browser feature. Although it technically would be possible for Gmail to do it for you, it's fairly insecure.

Guys, lets get something straight. I've been using the same browser
(IE) for the past 1 year, and I've been using Gmail since then. This
problem just started occuring now and I haven't made any changes to my
browser. Usernames and passwords are saved just fine on my browser. It
does that for Gmail too. The issue is that if the browser that has the
Gmail page displayed stays inactive for 2-3 mins, the session gets
expired. I am pretty sure it's not a browser issue, since other people
are facing the same problem.

I hate to tell you but that is a browser problem. I do technical support for a large SouthEastern Banks website and run in to that issue some. I use IE 7.0 and FireFox and have never had this issue with Gmail Cleint. Try restoring your security settings back to default level. Adjusting your javascript and cookie handling will cause problems.

I installed IE 7.0 to see if that fixes the problem. I'll keep you guy
posted as to what happens.
