Hello,
I had huge issues setting my Gmail IMAP account on Mac Mail yesterday on Maverick, and it looks like there are still lot of bugs between Gmail and Mail especially with he new Maverick and the 10.9.2 version doesn't solve the problem at all.
After deleting the Gmail account on my Mail program now on the Gmail server I found all my messages in the Trash, something like 50K messages that I want to keep on my server. How can I move them back into the inbox in one move ? ( we are talking of 50927 messages : ). Please help.

to assist with your issue, the only possible way of moving that many messages is to again - install an email client/program - and move them all to inbox. the only way i know of doing it through the gmail web interface is to go through them page by page, select all, and move them... many hundreds of pages :)

however, IMAP does not work correctly with gmail (at least in outlook and 99% of clients out there)

this is due to gmail's implementation of IMAP (X-GM-LABELS extension). it will not work correctly. at all.

your only option is to use google app sync (monthly cost, data collection), or switch to a proper IMAP provider.

why are all my messages being deleted? it says this is a forum for discussion of gmail, good or bad...

is the intention of the forum misleading? all i want to do is help people. lol

None of your messages were deleted, except for the ones where all you did was bash the moderators and/or suggest we perform sex acts upon you.

You seem confused by the concept of moderation.  Your messages, like nearly everyone elses, were held in queue until a moderator could take some of their personal time to review them to ensure they weren't in violation of laws or generally accepted moral standards when posting to a globally available, non-age restricted forum.

Posts where you don't call people names or use rude language, like the ones that are available on the board now, will be permitted.  More messages like the rude ones you posted about moderation, to our volunteer moderators, might earn you a ban.

I have lots of problems with my clients that use Apple Mail to my own Dovecot and Courier IMAP systems. I advise them to use Thunderbird and all is well.

If you click on the checkbox to the upper left of the message list
(Inline image 1)
it will select all
on that page
. A link will then appear above the message list
to the effect 'all 50 conversations on this page selected. Select all 50,000 messages in Trash'. Click on the underlined link and then the 'move' dropdown (Inline image 1) and select Inbox.
