hi can anyone please help me...i haven't been able to log onto my gmail
account for more than a week now cuz i get stuck in the loading
page....sometimes it doesn't even say loading. Also sometimes it
doesn't even want to load the normal google search page.
I'm using Firefox 1.5, on dial-up, tried IE 6 too....even a different
computer (same ISP acc tho) Tried clearing the cache and putting
mail.google.com on the accepted list of sites.
Every other web page works. And i'm able to log onto my gmail account
with my cell phone.....WIERD!!

Can you login to other Google services, such as the homepage? (http://www.google.com/ig) Also, try a different computer, perhaps (if possible) from the same connection.

Could you give a bit more detail on what actually happens when you try to login?

do you use a proxy to connect to the internet?

When this happens to me, I just hit the 'refresh' button on my browser
window. And that will bring the Gmail inbox page up for me on the
screen.

Maybe the same would work for you?

Hope that helps.

I have the same/similar problem! (East coast US; from 7pm 5/29/06 (so
far about 6 hrs), I don't get the server message, but after the
password it just never loads
anything. Web and other emails work fine.
It is also referred to as "Lock-out" and "Gmail doown" or ""Account
Deleted" (fewer);
it seems to be hitting people in the US and UK since about 5/25.
This is disappointing to me as I have been started to relie on gmail.
It seems lame that Google is not notifying us about this. (a more minor
lame that helpers on this group are implying that they don't know about
it, as per: "Tell me more").
Is there a specific place or group where the latest info is or where
Gsupport people will respond?
Thanks,

The Gmail Support website / knowledge-base has a few useful
suggestions. Have any of them helped?

If you can log in to your account from a different computer (perhaps at the library or something), you can disable chat by clicking the "standard without chat" link at the bottom of any page. That choice will be saved and will apply when you login from home. Perhaps that will let you back in...

And what is the exact error that you get? Is it the "this seems to be taking longer than normal" message?

I'm having the same problem. It started yesterday when there was a
Microsoft update. I'm using the MS firewall on my computer so I wonder
if that has anything to do with it. On my laptop, with Norton firewall
everything is fine. Yes - I rely very much on my gmail - I love it! Or
I used to ;-)
