I've just been noticing this new icon (see red arrows below) on many (but not all) e-mails in my Inbox.  What is it?  Thanks from Dodo.

Hallo Dodo (surely not your real name?)

You must be setting a record for the most questions posed on *any* forum :P

That little red icon is a red telephone in a circle which occurs after
one enables the 'Sender Time Zone' lab feature. Since you would have
enabled it yourself you should know WTF it means.

Ciao

Yes, she is one of our most beloved and prolific contributors here.

No, I don't think Dodo is her real name, but she seems to like that
nickname.

Except for his last sentence, Marko explained it well.

First, I set that lab feature long ago and do not recall ever seeing
that little red icon previously. Perhaps someone else can confirm my
memory is not flaky--or that it is.

Second, I am a naturally inquisitive person. Many features about
Gmail interest me, and I find asking knowledgeable and helpful people
in this group to be an excellent, and fast, way to learn. As a former
teacher, I also encouraged my students to ask questions.

Please accept my humble apology, you are correct.

It is the 'Sender Time Zone' lab. Red for 'this person is probably
sleeping' and Green for 'ok to phone'.

Apology accepted, Marko, which I appreciate.

An additional "tidbit":  You are correct, Dodo is not my given name.  It was "bestowed" upon my by me by a grandchild who could not pronounce my actual name (Diane).  Since then, her two siblings and family friends have adopted it.  Of course, I don't use it professionally.
