There was a problem logging onto your mail server. Your Password was
rejected. Account: 'ge2m', Server: 'pop.gmail.com', Protocol: POP3,
Server Response: '-ERR [AUTH] Username and password not accepted.',
Port: 995, Secure(SSL): Yes, Server Error: 0x800CCC90, Error Number:
0x800CCC92

this error is happening and my gmail password is ok when i go to gmail
on the web.

i have other gmail accounts and they are fine.

i even changed the password on this gmail account, then shutdown and
restarted my computer and tried outlook express again with the changed
password. I still cannot access this gmail account.

Can anyone help me figure this out?

TIA

here is the error on the same account if outlook express tries to send
instead of trying to receive

The message could not be sent because the server rejected the sender's
e-mail address. The sender's e-mail address was 'enuf...@gmail.com'.
Subject 'gmail password problem', Account: 'ge2m', Server:
'smtp.gmail.com', Protocol: SMTP, Server Response: '530 5.5.1
Authentication Required 38sm25953950nza', Port: 465, Secure(SSL): Yes,
Server Error: 530, Error Number: 0x800CCC78

I have accessed this gmail account in outlook express for over a year
and now it is failing without any reason I can see.

I am providing this additional information in case it helps someone help me.

TIA

Thank you. I had changed my password, but could do web access, just not POP.

I finally found google's POP troubleshooter (which I had known nothing
about) and I ran it a couple of times and now POP is working for my
account.

My webmail access worked fine through it all though, just pop stopped working from 4pm - 4am on 2 out of 5 of my email accounts.

Always remembers that if you are mannually configuring pop and stmp server for the account, you need to change the port numbers of 'Outgoing mail (SMTP)' to 465 and 'Incoming mail (POP3).' to 995.

This is very common mistake while configuring email client.

How to configure Email Clients (follow this link: http://mail.google.com/support/bin/topic.py?topic=1555 )
