The "Show quoted text" line that you see in your emails, is NOT
actually part of any message. It is a feature of the Gmail program
that displays messages on your screen. It is something Google puts
there, to make it easier to see your message with less clutter. The
message itself doesn't ever contain that line.
Whenever I forward a message, it takes the entire message (including
the part that might have been hidden by the "Show quoted text" thing)
and puts it in the body of the message I am preparing to send. "Show
quoted text" is never a part of a forwarded message. It forwards the
entire body of the message, just like any other email program does.
If you want to forward only part of a message, then you may edit the
text in the message, deleting those parts you don't want. Again, this
works just like any other email program.
If you want to "write a new message" (from scratch), then you
shouldn't be using Forward.
After forwarding a message to someone, when you look at your copy of
the message in your own Inbox, you might see that "Show quoted text"
line in it, but that is only because Gmail, in YOUR account,
recognizes the text as a copy of another message in your mailbox. The
person you forwarded it to, will not see the "Show quoted text" line
... unless they had already received the same message, and they are
using Gmail.
If you want to make sure that can't happen on their end, then you need
to alter each line of the message you are forwarding, so that it isn't
the same as another message they might have already received. Gmail
uses the "Show quoted text" line only when it sees text that they
already have in their mailbox.

Andy

I agree with Andy and Zack.

In this group's archives you'll see this brought up a few times. You
can use the Compose Mail link to generate a completely new message, or
when you begin a reply/forward, select all the text in the window
(Ctrl/Cmd-A usually works) then delete it before writing, then it will
only send the new message you've typed, and not quote previous
postings.
===
My version is this.
This should be simple : If i can translate Zack, there's no point in
forwarding without the message that you want it to be forwarded. Zack
said to wheatstone "You can use the Compose Mail link to generate a
completely new message". I think : that should do the trick. Question
answered. But...
Question :
===
Is there a way to disable this behaviour so that I can send the
message as if I would write a new message to some one and then mail
them".
===
- If you said "Is there a way to disable this behaviour",
answer is No.
Google only try to make everybody happy by hiding the all text
that everybody forwarded (and replied).
You'll be happy to have this kind of feature after you see an
email that has been 20 times forwarded by 20 persons,
you will see that google brings something nice by not showing
a long "all-exactly-the-same" message.
- If you said "as if", then i presume you would like to pretend that
you forward an email you received.
Answer is :
1. click forward
2. click the "Show quoted text" line
3. you should see : all the message that everyone can read it.
4. Block and delete : all the message that everyone can read it.
5. write your own pretended as if forwarded email message
6. send it.
you see that bellow this message i replied also attached "-Show quoted text -
