GMail is scrolling down while typing

Hi,

For quite some time now I struggle with a strange gmail behaviour.
When composing an email / typing in the message edit textbox, gmail scrolls the content down until only the single line I currently edit is visible.

Any ideas what the problem could be?
(please no stupid default responses like I should clean my browser cache ;) )

Well, let's hear what troubleshooting steps you've taken so far then. How about you include all details in your email e.g. browser and platform? From the vid it looks like you are using Firefox on some flavour of Linux. Have your tried starting FF in safe mode? https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-firefox-issues-using-safe-mode

And an end user is supposed to "troubleshoot" buggy Javascript in the new Gmail monstrosity how?

Can you show us this buggy JavaScript? If I open the web console on my Firefox I do not get a single JavaScript error.
