For a short period, I had to use my gmail account for my students to
use. I added "Prof." to my name a that time. I no longer need that
title attached to my email, but I cant seem to get rid of it. It isn't
a part of my email address, but all emails say 'to' or 'from' Prof. MH
Burnham. I want to drop the Prof thing, but i can't fine any way f
getting rid of it. Any suggestions?

Thanks,
MH Burnham

Settings > Accounts

Click the edit info link next to your email address and you can change what is there.  However, I don't see "Prof." in the to field.  All I see is "MHB".

1. Sign in your gmail
2. Click on Settings
3. Click on Accounts
4. Under "Send mail as:" click on 'edit info' all the way to the
right.
5. Pop-up window would show up. Change the name on the Box.

Hope that helps

I have a similar question, probably looking for the same answer. I
wanted to set up an address for my church's summer services, which I
coordinate and because the church office is closed for the summer. I
e'd my own email address a gmail invitation and then set up a gmail
account "summer.services.at.etc" but the recipient sees my name
instead of "summer etc". I went into settings and made sure that the
relevant setting was changed to read summer.services
"summer.services ..." but the emails still show up in people's inbox
with my name. I don't see any other place to change this.

If he posted via the web to the group, it won't know his "name" setting from the e-mail and use his "nickname" setting from the group settings.
