Has anyone seen this before? I know I'm typing correctly and the
letters are there when I hit the send button. YOu can reply to me
directly or to the group.
Thanks,
Burt

One commonality I'm hearing here from this and other threads of the
missing letters is they all seem to be running Safari on MAC. Safari
on MAC is only a supported browser at v1.3
<https://mail.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?answer=6557&topic=1524>.
And I've heard a few mentions of Safari 3.0beta. Since GMail is
actually a web application, and is essentially downloaded and run on
your computer, if there is a problem with GMail working on Safari,
those could easily be symptoms.
I would try loading Firefox, or any other browser, to see if that
definitely clears it up. If not, try going to your local library and
use your GMail account on one of those machines (be sure to Sign Out
so you don't leave your cookie there for people to use). If you have
the same problem on another machine, it's Google, if another browser
fixes it, it's Safari.
Any other MAC users here, running Safari 3.0, that can report they
have never had a problem?
To whom do we report this obvious (but scattershot) bug?

If this is the case, I wish google the best of luck finding the code
and repairing the damage done. If this is the work of some malicious
programmer, I hope they are brought to task. I have used gmail for job
applications in the past and would hate to have missed out on a good
job because some idiot wants to make a bit of noise.

Can I add Safari 3.0.3 and the letters m, then n to the mix. I'm
switching to Camino while this blows over, but will be back on Safari
later, as I prefer it. My best guess, since this seems to be limited
to gmail and seems so specific, is a rogue programmer at google with a
grudge, doing a browser detect and being quite annoying to Safari 3
beta users.
Has there been any word on resolution of this problem? I see this
thread was most active back in July, yet this is still happening. ?!
Thanks on the recommendation of Camino.
cheers, Larks
