Over the last few days changes that I make to my contacts won't
stick. The screen says the changes have been saved. But when I leave
the contact and come back a few minutes later, most and usually all
the changes I've made have disappeared. This is very frustrating &
time consuming as I have many contacts to maintain and I don't have
time to double/triple check/correct the data. I posted the problem
with the help forum a couple days ago. Gmail personnel posted they're
working on it, but it's still not working right & I'm getting
backlogged on data updates. So far the best temporary fix has been to
edit the contact info in a text editor, then copy/paste into the gmail
Contact fields again & again until the data takes. Help!! Thanks.

If GMail personnel told you they were working it, I'm sure they really were.

I have to wonder if you really needed to put it back in multiple times.  I've had problems in the past that were similar to that, and it SEEMED they hadn't updated, but if I left it alone and checked it later it seems to have taken.  Perhaps if you assumed the update took, despite what you see, it might show up later.

As a user's group, that's the best "help" I can offer you.
