Check the "remember me" box when you log in. If you do and it doesn't
work, make sure your browser isn't set up to erase all its cookies
after it closes (if you tell us what browser you have, we can help you
with that).

When you tick the "Remeber Me" box, google servers write what's called
a "Cookie" which is basically a name-value piece of data e.g.
username=john. This data is stored on your local machine and when you
log onto google again, it is retrieved by google. If your browser is
set to erase cookies, then google cannot retrive this cookie and you
must enter your login details each time you attempt to log in.

Hope that explains it a bit.

The only place that you can get your name on the main Google page is
in the upper right (the same place it appears on your Gmail account).
If you want your name some place else, you would have to make your own
Greasemonkey script or something.

Do you mean you want to see your name instead of Google Logo (With Big
Font) ?? Do you want to replace it ? If so , try to replace your home
page with this tweak .
) . Hope you wanted this one .

If I understand correctly what you're looking for, if you're using Firefox you could install an add-on like Stylish and the Gmail Redesigned skin (or another) then edit the CSS style to insert another graphic (such as one of your name) ....
