Today I've noticed that the entire Sender column in my inbox is in
normal font, and the subject/message snippet is bold for unread
messages.

Does anyone else find this annoying?

What was wrong with the entire line being bold if a message was
unread? Please bring that back!

I'm not sure what you are referring to.  Right now, any message that is unread has a different background color and a bold sender and subject.  As far as I know, this is how it's always been.

It just sounds like a cache issue to me. Try clearing your cache or
wait a bit and it should good go away.

Nah, it was a real issue: http://search.twitter.com/search?q=gmail+bold+sender

But looks back to normal now. I'll take a screenshot if I see it
again.

Perhaps others and I saw the problem when it happened:

Glad it's fixed now.

I have to wonder if it was a new "feature" though... I saw the same
old display when I first saw this thread, but later it went to the
non-bolded sender. This morning, as I read right now, I still have
the senders unbolded. I'll have to refresh my cache to see if it
returns (along with the Search Web button I see being talked about
again).

Yup... a fresh cache has the Search Web button back and bolded
new-senders. Wonder if that was planned?!?

Hi Nick, no, all of my gmail accounts now are just regular font. So
if someone replied to an email I sent, there reply (their name) is not
bold. So I can't tell if they sent me a reply or if it is just in my
conversation string.

and why would so many of us have this issue at the same time?

yes, EXTREMELY ANNOYING. Why did this happen. You can't tell when
someone has replied to your email unless you remember the (#) after
each one. Yeah, right.

Hmm, strange.  I still have bold senders for my new messages.  Perhaps something screwy happened with the code when they put the Search the Web button back.  Try clearing your cache and see if that fixes anything.  How to do that depends on what browser you are using.
