I have multiple email accounts (non-gmail) that I use gmail for.  If I use IMAP on my iPhone to reply all the responses come from my @gmail account no matter who the email is addressed to.  Is there any way to set up my iPhone to reply using the account the email was sent specifically to just like the PC web interface does?

You have two options...
First you could set up the other accounts on your iPhone as well and
just change which one issendin the email. Though that's probably more
trouble than it's worth and prorbably won't show up in your GMail
accout as something you sent.

The other option is to use the web interface on your iPhone to reply
to mail sent to your non-GMail addresses. As long as your settings are
set to reply as the account the message was sent to, the iPhone web
interface will follow those settings even though it doesn't show what
account is sending the message.

Thanks Nick.

I was hoping to be able to be able to use the native iPhone interface for this as it's much easier to use.  Also, Gmail in the web interface on the iPhone doesn't show graphics nearly as well as the native iPhone mail app.  Oh well.  I can dream.

What you're running into is a limitation of the native iPhone app.  It is what's limiting you to who you send from; not GMail itself.

However, I've found this article <http://www.macosxhints.com/article.php?story=20010401111133239> which explains how you can set up multiple from addresses, which another article indicated applies to the iPhone app.  So perhaps you can try this trick of theirs.

It looks like exactly what I need except when I checked adding an additional email address on the iPhone itself there is no "comma" for some reason.

I tried on my son's iPhone and it definitely didn't offer a comma to put into that field, so I tried going into another program (notes) and wrote the e-mails in a list with comma, used cut and paste to take that to the mail configuration, and viola, I was able to pick the from address.

Zack,

That worked great!  The only way I knew of before this was to keep all the other accounts turned on and that was a pain.  Thanks for the help!

Neat! I was thinking of doing that but haven't gotten around to testing it. This is something I've wanted to do as well for some time but settled on using the web interface :)

When I set up IMAP on iPhone for Gmail, and I delete messages on my
iPhone, it should delete the messages from Gmail... correct? This is
not working. After I delete messages on iPhone, I go to the web-based
Gmail and the messages are still in my inbox.

Is this a bug, or is there something I can do to fix this?

Thanks!

I would suspect you have something set up wrong.  My son and wife both have iPhones and I set them up with IMAP and they work perfectly.  Perhaps check your settings against the recommended settings from the Help Center:
