When I opened a reply to look it over, I noticed clickable "cc" and "bcc" links over to the right the "To" space. It only shows when the addressing space is clicked in, much like the alternate "From" options.

I've received an email and now I want to reply to that but at the same time I want to cc (or even bcc) another recipient in on the reply and I can't see how that's done.  I'm using the new "reply" version by the way.

It was very easy in the "old" version and over the years it's a feature that I've used many, many times.

Any ideas?

Just click on the usual reply arrow, then click in the addressing section of the reply up where the "to" field is.  That should expand the addressing part of your reply a bit and then you'll see the CC and BCC links off in the lower right corner of that addressing section.  Click on them to reveal their fields.

Dontcha just love it when Google thinks we want our features hidden
from us? What planet are they from anyway?

I'm not ever giving up the "old" reply version, not if I can help it.

(I wish they would give me back my Archive button, so I don't have to
revert to the drop-down "More" menu to find it. Arrgh!)

I have an Archive button still.  And it's not there via some Gmail Lab workaround.

I have it too, but it comes and goes. It is mostly gone when I need it.

Say when I am looking in any "folder" (label). Then they didn't
bother to give us an Archive button ... or should I say, they took
away the Archive button that always used to be there. Before they
started trying to get smart on us.

It seems that a useful Gmail feature would be the ability to customize our button bar to include buttons we think we need.  Maybe provide one customization for when emails are selected and another for when they're not.

That's a great idea - definitely worthy of being submitted to Google!

You can also use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl-Shift-C or B when you have
the reply window open.

Marko,

I realize it's been a year since you posted this.  Hopefully, you are still monitoring it.  That said, it's so nice to know that someone brings the focus of a thread to the question, exactly.  Thanks for sticking with it through all the posts, and providing an answer that can be used to solve the problem.  The "Ctrl-Shift-C or B" nailed it for me.  A BIG THANKS!!!!  Too bad there is not a list of Keyboard shortcuts for Gmail.  Perhaps there is, but I've yet to find it.  There is a link to Keyboard Shortcuts under the setting here, but they do not refer to the use of Gmail.

If you're referring to this link then, yes, they are keyboard shortcuts for Gmail.  They are organized in two groups.  (1) Those that are always active and (2) those that need to be enabled via the Gmail settings.

Thanks for the thanks!

Just to add to Kenneth's email, and for good measure, http://www.lmgtfy.com/?q=gmail+keyboard+shortcuts :)

Yep, the Control/Shift key C worked like a charm for me too!  But right, why are simple functions like this kept hidden/secret??

These functions are neither hidden nor secret, it is just not spoon-fed to you. Did you even try the help? As I click on Settings>Help and start typing key... the keyboard short-cut help page appears first. If I open google.com and search for "gmail keyboard shortcuts", I get the same help page. How is this hidden for you?

After clicking on the  reply icon, click after the name in the TO field and a CC BCC selection will appear on the right side of the field.

I hit ? (the question mark key) and the help page popped right up, with that particular one near the top left.  I wouldn't call that hidden or a secret.

There is also a 'Learn more' link below the keyboard shortcuts switch in Settings>General which opens this page:
At the top of that page is the tip that Zack mentioned:
