When I set a filter to forward all mail from "*" to
mynu...@mms.att.net , if I send it to myself from m...@gmail.com to
m...@gmail.com, it never gets delivered to my phone. I can however use
that mms address and send a mail from within gmail and it goes to my
phone.

What gives? Is the filter doing something behind the scenes to exclude
filtering mail to and from myself?

As a rule, filters do not apply to outgoing messages.  There have been exceptions found to this, but the one case that never applies to the exception, is when forwarding.  Just like when you create a filter and "Apply to the following X conversations" it won't forward then either.

These are not outgoing messages that I am trying to filter. I am
sending from gmail to gmail in the same account. On the messages way
back in, it should be filtered.

It is outgoing if you're in GMail and you click the compose link.  Gmail does not receive back in e-mails sent from yourself, so there's no "way back in".

What you could do is set up a new GMail account, something like havealohacell@gmail, and send the email to that.  But, it would seem that the simpler solution would be to just send the email to your phone in the first place.  Why are you trying to have GMail forward it to your phone after you send it to yourself?

I have all these error messages and don't know how to clean them up.At this time I can't
send any email via outlook express. The error box indicates that I have exceeded the 450
outgoing messages and will not allow me to send any further email.Anyone know how to correct this problem?

Just wait.  It's a limit in GMail over a 24 hour period.

Maybe when you send to yourself in gmail, you could use a gmail +
address like m_+go...@gmail.com. Then filter those to forward to
your phone. I can't test this as I don't have a phone to forward to,
but I use the + adressing online and filter out with it.
