Wouldn't it be nice if Google had a bit on their home page telling you
about problems. Even the gas and electricity suppliers have a pre
recorded announcement on their phone when there is an incident. With
Google I don't even have a phone number or a 'contact us' site.
I guess I just wait and hope it all comes back eventually. I also
hope someone out there reads this and, if they are a gmail user
confirms that there is a problem or if they are a gmail employee they
get it fixed.
I have been unable to get mail email for the last couple of hours
though the rest of cyberspace is working fine. I can even get to
Google Accounts but the last step to Gmail just times out. I have no
way to report a problem or ask for help.

I wouldn't have been able to use your suggestions about contacting
them because mail.google was exactly the address I couldn't get to. I
will note the gmail-help-alerts however. I'm pretty sure I would have
got that.
Thanks again for your interest and support.
