I frequently get long newsletters such as paid version of Windows Secrets newsletter, in Gmail. Gmail keeps clipping the newsletter requiring me to click on "View entire message" and it says [Message clipped]. Can I disable this message clipping feature? I want to display the whole newsletter and make sure it is indexed within Gmail so it can appear in search results.

There's no way to turn off this feature, but I can assure you the
whole message is indexed and can be searched, so you don't have to
worry about that. I believe the clipping is to safe time putting the
message on your screen, as GMail is designed to be quick, and messages
beyond a certain length might take too long to bring up making people
think GMail is slow.

Sounds more like vanity than usability.

Wonderful! A new feature that no one asked for ~ can't be turned off ~ and does the opposite of what it intends to do. What is this? Facebook.

The time it takes to find and click the "View entire message" link is less than the time it would take to load the entire message in the first place.

I think that makes it a good thing.  Don't you?
