I've already submitted a post titled "Errors causing Firefox to not
complete loading of Gmail" for which there's been no response. Now
I've discovered a worse problem in Safari which may be related.

Safari always ends by saying something like this:

Loading "https://mail.google.com/mail/u/0/?shva=1#inbox", completed 6
of 7 items.

The pair of numbers at the end can vary, but they always seem to be
"completed (n) of (n+1) items", such as 37 of 38, etc. I checked
Safari's Activity monitor and found the following Error is
consistently showing up:

VER=8&at=AF6bupMRYAlSigtEsghltxWEljVFrCcB2g&it=5740&TYPE=xmlhttp&zx=fc1zl1lavtcj&t=1
Error NSURLErrorDomain - 999"

So both Firefox and Safari are reporting errors, and I suspect this
one is the culprit.

I'm running on a Mac-Mini with the latest version of Safari for OSX
10.4.11, Version 4.1.3 (4533.19.4).
Firefox is Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X 10.4; en-US; rv:
1.9.2.22) Gecko/20110902 Firefox/3.6.22

I can't tell you much, except that "Error NSURLErrorDomain - 999" can be caused by a page reload request, before the previous load had completed. You can sometimes manually create the error by clicking quickly on two links, creating a reload event.
It may be a problem in gmail's code.

Hi Dickster, I am wondering if you found a solution to the issue. Suddenly, my Gmail standard view does not load in safari (4.1.3) on my MAC OS 10.4.11; it was working 12 hours ago.
