Chinese Spam

All my junk he mail has turned into Chinese characters. What's causing
this and is there a fix?

Although the item is from 25.09.2006 the essential facts have not
changed. I could provide more up to date statistics if you are that
interested.

At heart this is spam and Google filters are recognising it as such by
delivering it to the Spam area of your GMail account. In 30 days it
will be gone of its own accord, unless you decide to delete it
yourself via the Delete Forever button - you select which items to
delete and only those will disappear or, alternatively, press Empty
Trash Now and all emails in the Spam section of your GMail account
will be deleted - forever. Never to be recalled. You will be asked if
you wish to confirm this action via a pop-up message to ensure you
wish to delete all of these emails.

GMail does not encourage deletion. Why should it, when you have 2.8 GB
+ to fill? Wow! All that space. If you wish to store all your spam -
( Why not, it is your account? )- transfer the spam as it arrives to
your inbox; use the star system ( if you want to - for easier recall
of a particular email and / or create a label for yet further
personalisation of your emails and faster yet discovery of a
particular group of emails. So, for example, you could have a label
for Cantonese. One for Mandarin. Another for Han. This is 2007 4705
The Year of the Pig. Create other labels according to years or Chinese
animals. Your account. Your way.

If you wish to read what is being sent to you and you consider
yourself a Sinophile, then, immerse yourself in the language that
appeals
