is anyone interested in maybe a built-in sound alert in the gmail
interface? that'd be a nice addition to the preferences i think. i am a
mac os x user and i run gmail 24/7 in either camino or safari. i don't
prefer using a mail client but i would like sound alerts when an email
comes in. don't go scant on the preferences either. allow for
repeating alerts. anyone care to comment?

I can see where you are coming from on this one, it would be useful,
however I - as others will be - am running GoogleTalk, which notifies,
as does Gmail Notifier.

It would however be a ncie addition - and if it is implemented, then it
should definitely be optional

I'm OS X 10.4 user, and use firefox with Gmail Notifier Extentions, is
very usefull, i like it, why you go try this ?

The Gmail Notifier for Mac OSX includes a sound notification.
