Hmmm, just tried a couple of my graphic signatures, and none of them inserted either. I would start with the classics, clear cache and cookies, etc, although I just did that yesterday to resolve a different issue. I haven't used a graphic signature in at least three months though, so I have no way of knowing how long they have been not working on my system.
What OS and browser are you using?

Just happened. All my signatures which are text only work normally. Signatures made up of graphics now only show a small box saying 'in line image 1 and has a small icon of a split rectangle. Can anyone help.
Thank you in advance ...

I just got back to me laptop, cleared cookies and browsing data, and closed/reopened chrome - and the first graphic signature failed again, but another worked. I am not positive how to interpret that.

I also suddenly have similar problems with my Canned Responses.  But mine are a mixture.  Some graphics work, and some text works.  I wonder what has happened?!

The question becomes:  Do the Google folks know and, if so, what are they doing about it?

I just discovered that all my Canned Responses now work in the new composition page; however, some still won't in the old.

SusieQ:

You have to be in your (old) composition window to see the link to the new one.  This is at the top to the right of Labels.

Here's a new twist I just discovered, Tu.  I was on the old composition page.  One of my Canned Responses didn't work.  By now, I wasn't surprised.  I switched to the new comp. page and, as we've discussed, the same CR did work.  I copied the image, knowing I could paste it on my draft still on the old comp. page.  When I went back to that, the previously-dysfunctional CR was there without my having to paste my copied image.

Thanks for the heads-up Dodo!  It works in the new composition page for me too. For others, click on the little down arrow to the right of the trash basket and you'll find the 'Canned Responses' option.
Happy again ... Regards

I agree with you, Chris, about not seeing any advantage to the "new compose."  In fact, without some of the features such as "canned responses," the "new compose" provides less than the "old compose."  It may be new, but it's not improved!

It's been weeks now and I've sent "feedback" about canned responses not inserting graphics... and still it's not working.

I don't see the point of the "new compose" what's wrong with the old compose that "new compose" improves on?

Does anyone know if Google are intending fixing this problem, as I am growing weary of the "new compose" as the only method of inserting graphics from canned responses.

There's an old adage if it ain't broke- don't fix it - if only Googlemail heeded it!!!  All the improvements since 2004 - haven't been. grrrr.

Has anyone found a way of fixing this, does deleting canned responses and reinstalling it work ?

Here is what I have done regarding my canned responses that no longer work.  If I still have the emoticon, graphic, or whatever, I copy and paste it into a blank composition page.  I've only done this with the "old compose,"  so I don't know if it works the same using the "new compose."  After I have pasted it into a clean composition page, I do two things.  First, I create a new canned response with it.  Second, I send that page to myself.  I have a label called emoticons and one called signatures because most of my canned responses fit those two descriptions.  I affix one or both labels.  The next time I want to use a particular canned response that doesn't work, I then go to it under the appropriate label, copy its image, and paste it into the message I'm composing.  It's a tad longer to do this, but if the canned response doesn't work, this does.

I am so glad you wrote, lalisap.  I had tried several times and finally stopped experimenting with the new compose interface and had actually forgotten about it.  For one thing, I think it requires extra keystrokes to use some of the options.  For another, the emoticons weren't usable at all.  In fact, if it weren't for your input here, I wouldn't have known that they now are functioning.  I expected to be notified by Google when that happened.  Did anyone receive such notification?  Finally, has anyone found benefits in the new compose interface that the old doesn't have?

I had not used CANNED RESPONSES in quite awhile and I just used this evening only to find that the GRAPHICS no longer appeared (also showed a small box saying 'in line image #)

SOLUTION:  Switched to NEW  GMAIL COMPOSE interface.  HOW?  Opened up NEW MESSAGE and at towards top of window there was a link asking if I wanted to try new Gmail COMPOSE.  I hit link and checked all my Canned Responses and all the graphics were there.

I wish Google would FIX the old interface so CANNED RESPONSES still had graphics.  But until they do, This is how you can get the GRAPHICS in your canned responses back.

Hope this helps.
