[Gmail-Users] Display Name continues to come out as wrong spelling

My name is Peter Kim but when I send emails, it continues to display
as "Peter KIN" - and it is starting to confuse a lot of people I
email. Please help fix this!!

Is this happening to a different account you use? Your message came
with a display name of simply "PK".

From what program, or website, are you sending these emails? For
example, if you are using IMAP or POP3, and something like Outlook or
Thunderbird, that's where the display name gets attached to your
outgoing messages, and that's where you'd need to correct it.

If the "Peter KIN" happens only when sending from Gmail's own web
interface, then go into Settings, "Accounts and Import", "Send mail
as", and click "edit info". Or go to your Google Account settings.

I believe the name is set up from Google Accounts page instead of your Google Mail settings right?

Go to Settings->Accounts and Import->Send Mail As. Find the edit info
link next to your gmail account and you should be able to change the
display name.

Pl. check the following as what has been saved by you in your account catalog.

Settings -> Accounts -> [Send Mail As Section] -> [Against the appropriate email, choose the 'Edit' option] -> [In the pop window with the advisory [(your name and email address will be shown on mail you send) ]], it should show you what is being used to fill the 'From Name' field and you can edit the same from there.

FYI Andy (and other)...

The PK is the name chosen in the group, which governs how posts to the group show the from address.  It has little/nothing to do with how the message was sent to the group (e-mail or web posting).
