  1. What is the green symbol next to Ryan's name?  I've never seen that before!  Later the same symbol turned orange.
  2. How can I delete the name of someone who has been invited to chat (which I don't remember doing, incidentally)?  This is the same person who is already on my chat list.
Thank you!  ~Dodo

It means I have the video chat plugin installed, so you could
potentially video chat with me. It suddenly started popping up because
your email to me made us "friends" essentially.

I forget actually. If you block them (in the More list), then delete
the contact that should definitely work.

Ryan's symbol has returned to green and remained so.  ~Dodo

Just saw this, Ryan, having forgotten to opt for e-mailed updates. I
would not have known this w/o your reply. It must be too new
technology to be in Gmail's Help. I hope you appreciate how I
protected your identity, although I now see it was unnecessary.

In the "more" list?

They've actually had it a while, just a lot of people don't have it
installed. http://www.google.com/chat/video

And I meant the "Video and more" menu that appears when you hover over
someone's name.

Yes, I recall reading a videocam is required.  That lets me out--and I'm glad.  I'm still mastering Gmail's basic chat.

What did you mean earlier when you referred to the "more list"?  Did you mean the "most popular" option?  That section within Options also confuses me because "All contacts" sounds like it would be the longest list while "Most popular" less so.  Apparently, "All contacts" are our Gmail contacts and "Most popular" is everyone:  Gmail contacts, AIM buddies, and ?  ~Dodo

I meant the Video & more menu. See my earlier post (right before yours).

Oops--guess I read too fast.  Also, I'm behind in reading reponses from the group to some of my several inquiries.  I need more hours in a day!  ~Dodo
