Group Chat

Hi!! I don't know if this has been discussed, but does anyone know of
plans for group chat capabilities on gmail? Right now, our group
discussions are held through our status messages. Group chat would be
awesome!!

It has been discussed and would be a welcome feature of GoogleTalk,
but it can't be a feature of GMail, as you're talking about chat not
mail. True, some people's GMail loads with a chat module that's
actually a plug-in to the GoogleTalk, but GMail does not natively come
with Chat features.

The GoogleTalk plug-in? It's the light blue box above (or below) your
green label's box on the left of your screen (assuming you're using an
approved browser and have one of the "chosen" languages as your
preference, and are not using "standard without chat"). Titled your
Quick Contacts, it's an interface into the GoogleTalk (GTalk) system,
but it's not an independent chat client, since it depends on a number
of factors.

GTalk/GoogleTalk, then perhaps this search is what you're looking for
