I created an HTML signature, with graphic, in the website creation
program Nvu. I copied the entire signature, including graphic. I
then opened the Gmail message composition window. When I pasted the
HTML signature, all the text formatting was missing, meaning, all text
appeared without line or paragraph breaks as I had originally created
it. What I would like to know is how to keep the formatting, or
restore it in Gmail, so it appears in my Gmail message as it appeared
in my website creation program.

Thanks.

Did you enable HTML message composition?

(Known as "Rich formatting" in Gmail).

To check, look just above the composition box. You should see a
toolstrip with a lot of buttons. If you don't and only see a "rich
formatting >>" link, you're in plain text mode and need to click the
link to switch to what you want.

Thanks Ryan.

That worked. I was using plain text instead of rich text. All is
fine now.

You're welcome from me as well.
